For years I was a qualified climbing and outdoor pursuits instructor and qualified “Guide de Haute Montagne’ which took me to many mountain ranges in different parts of the world. My climbing site is:

I have always had a bit of a travel bug. I hitch hiked to India years ago. I am pretty well travelled. I almost always had a camera with me but photography was not the main motivation.

I took to sailing after the mountains and I sailed from the UK to New Zealand including a singlehanded pacific ocean crossing. Tales of that adventure can be found at:

I used a variety of cameras including an Exacta and then a series of Nikons. The older shots were taken either on slide transparency film or negative film and have been scanned. Nowadays I shoot in digital.
